The Grass Is Always Greener.........

Friday, April 4, 2008

Well, we didn't make it to the Spring Garden Festival at Kanapaha but we did wind up planting on Sunday. We planted a Red Maple tree, Drake Elm tree and a pile of Daylilies. We did alot of garden maintenance also. The weather was perfect! We love that Spring is here. I think it lasted for about a week! It's already creeping up into the mid to high 80's and getting humid. We finally had to turn on our central air conditioning today and close the windows. I hated to do that but it was time. Too sticky! The grass is looking so green and nice right now though. I love that! Over the winter it looks dead and brown and the past two weeks it just keeps getting greener and greener. Now I only wish we could head up to Pennsylvania and see all of our favorite Spring flowering trees, tulips, lilacs and all the great things that are starting to bloom up there this time of year that we can't grow here. Our roses are starting to bloom too. I had just given them a good pruning and fertilizing and the results are already showing! Love this time of year!

This is Oliver & Dudley's version of helping in the garden! Bruce watering in our newest Sugar Maple Tree.

Miss Chloe (aka-Dirty Girty) is the white one.
She's blind & deaf and sweet as sugar.
